Trimbakeshwar braces for rush on last Shravan Somvar
Nashik: In anticipation of a huge rush of devotees on the last Shravan Somvar, strict bandobast will be in place in Trimbakeshwar on Monday.Nearly two lakh devotees thronged Trimbakeshwar on Aug 11, the third Shravan Somvar.Additional SP Aditya Mirkhelkar said: "There has been a huge rush of devotees over Friday and Sunday. It is expected on Monday, though not like the third Shravan Somvar.""We have deployed 300 policemen and another 500 home guards for security," he added.Police officers said the flow of devotees can be unpredictable. An officer said: "Since it is the last Shravan Somvar, the rush can increase, or it could also be the other way round as a large number of devotees arrived in Trimbakeshwar over Friday and Sunday due to the extended weekend following the national holiday on account of Independence Day."In Nashik city, roads that will be closed for motor vehicles are from Malegaon Stand to Kapaleshwar temple, Khandve Hall to Kapaleshwar temple, Sardar Chowk to Kapaleshwar temple, and Dhikle Library to Kapaleshwar temple from 6am to 10pm considering the rush at the Kapaleshwar temple, Ramkund, and Gangaghat areas.
