Two teens drown in Ahilyanagar lake
Nashik: Two teenagers, one aged 13 while another 16, drowned in a lake in Bingar town in Ahilyanagar on Thursday.The deceased minors have been identified as Ahmat Jawed Shaikh from Alamgir village of Nagardevle area in Bhingar town and Mohammad Saad Ansari from the Sadar Bazar area of Bhingar town.The police said they went for a swim in the lake around Thursday noon. The boys apparently could not gauge the depth of the water, which resulted in the drowning.Some people in the area were close to the incident spot. As soon as they spotted the two boys drowning in the lake, they leapt towards them and pulled them out of the water. Both the teenagers were subsequently rushed to the military hospital in the Bhingar area. However, the two boys were declared ‘brought dead' by the doctors. The Bhingar police in Ahilyanagar have registered a case of accidental death in this regard. Assistant inspector Jagdish Mulgir of the Bhingar police station said, "The lake where the boys drowned was close to their respective residences. Since it is a military camp area, personnel of the armed forces were also nearby. Soon after they spotted the two boys drowning, they plunged into the lake to rescue them and later rushed them to the militaryhospital.The case is being investigated further.
