Nashik: Saturday - a half working day - is going to be the last chance to complete the admission process for students selected in the first merit list. Prominent city colleges have made it clear that the students who fail to confirm their admissions on or before June 25 will lose the opportunity as process of finalising the second merit list for class XI will start from June 25 from 5 pm onwards.

"On Monday, all colleges will display their second merit list which will clear the picture of class XI admissions in Nashik. This is because many students, who have applied in more than one college, will opt out after the first list," said N G Autade, Deputy Director of Education. While colleges are conducting the class XI admission process on an individual level, the education department is the directing authority for the entire process.

"The cut-offs will also become clear with the second merit list. I think cut-offs for science, which touched the 94% mark in the first list, will come down up to 88% or so," said Nilesh Rathi, a professor from MVP Samaj's science college. The cut-off for Commerce stream, which was around 87% in preferred colleges, is set to dip to 75% in the second list. In short, the second list is set to provide the admission opportunities to more students.
