NASHIK: The penultimate day of the
agricultural expo

, saw thousands of farmers visiting Thakkar’s Dome along
Trimbakeshwar Road
on Sunday to learn about advanced farming technologies related to the field.
The exhibition included new experiments like operating agricultural pumps through cellphones, solar-based cold storage facilities, purchase-sale of agricultural produce through a mobile app, new high-yield varieties of fruits and crops, and various advanced agricultural implements from sowing and spraying to harvest.
Around 250 stalls are set up by agricultural companies, showcasing advanced farming technologies. “The expo helped me check various products by agricultural companies directly and at one platform. Moreover, there have also been new varieties of fruits with high yield,” said
Jibhau Deore
, a farmer from Deola.
“I have vineyards on six acres and we require labours that are not easily available. Labour shortage is one of the issues we are facing right now. I was here to see new farming techniques and technology available in the market. The expo had some stalls showcasing various machineries from sowing, planting to harvest. There were also demonstrations about spraying by machinery being given at the expo,” said
Sandeep Salve, a farmer.
