Nashik: Some unidentified people killed a 65-year-old farmer with a blunt weapon inside his house in the industrial area of Ambad here on Friday evening and decamped with a safe containing cash and jewellery, collectively worth around Rs5 lakh, police said on Saturday.
The victim, Bacchu Kardile, was alone in his house at Sanjeev Nagar from 7.30pm and 10.45pm, when his family members had gone for a Haldi ceremony for a close relative’s wedding in the Gangapur Road area. Around 10.45 pm, Kardel’s son returned home and found him lying dead with blood all around.
On being alerted, a police team, including DCP (Zone II) Chandrakant Khandvi and crime branch officers, reached the Kadiles’ house. An officer said the criminals had struck Kardile’s head with a blunt object, leading to his death.
