Road safety course compulsory for school bus drivers in Nashik
Nashik: The Nashik Regional Transport Office (RTO) has made it mandatory for school bus drivers to undergo two-hour training sessions on road safety.The training session — which will be operated by Nashik First organisation — will be held at the Traffic Education Park in Mumbai NakaThe training will be given free of cost by the officers of Nashik RTO and experienced trainers of the Nashik First organisation. School bus drivers taking part in the training programme will be given a certificate on completion of the training.The sessions will be organised from Monday to Friday throughout May in two slots, from 11am to 1pm and 3pm to 5pm.A release from the Nashik First organisation said in view of school students’ safety, the two-hour training on road safety has been made compulsory for all the school bus drivers and private school van drivers in Nashik district.The certificate received after the training will have to be shown by the bus drivers at the time of the fitness tests of their school bus or renewal of their driving license.This initiative has been taken to ensure the safety of school students who commute in these vehicles, said Nashik RTO.The inauguration of the training programme was held on Tuesday at the Traffic Education Park in the presence of commissioner of police Ankush Shinde, deputy police commissioner (crime) Prashant Bacchav, former deputy regional transport office Vasudev Bhagat, former and assistant RTO Prashant Deshmukh.Chairman of Nashik First Abhay Kulkarni and director Suresh Patel were also present on the occasion.
