Resorts, hotels in Trimbak, Igatpuri under watch

NASHIK: Rural police have decided to utilise their entire staff for making arrangements to maintain law and order on New Year's Eve on Sunday night.

While all police stations will be making strict bandobast in their respective jurisdictions, special attention will be paid to hotels and resorts in rural district.

said, "Most of the hotels and resorts that attract crowd are in the jurisdiction of Trimbakeshwar,

Igatpuri

and Nashik taluka police stations. Our attention will be focused in these areas."

Gaikwad said, "We have prepared three strike force teams to concentrate on these three areas. Maximum people go to

Trimbak

and Igatpuri to celebrate and also visit food joints that fall in Nashik taluka police station."

The rural police have kept their breath analysers at the ready, to keep a check on drunk drivers mainly on the national and state highways in their jurisdiction. Furthermore, the rural police will focus their attention on mischief mongers who trouble tourists.

All police stations have been instructed to keep a watch in areas under their jurisdiction where people hangout for picnics and ensure security arrangements in the concerned areas.

The rural police said that everyone on duty on Sunday and Monday will be out in the field.

Gaikwad said that it will almost be an all-out operation wherein every police personnel on duty will be out on patrol to ensure that there is no illegal activity taking place in their jurisdiction. At the same time they will ensure people do not lose their lives due to rash, negligent or drunk driving.

There are quite a few dams and picnic spots people visit for parties during New Year's Eve. Most of the dams are located in Igatpuri, Trimbak and Ghoti areas. People may also go on forts and mountains to welcome the New Year hence, the rural police will also be patrolling these areas.
