RBI director inaugurates 2-day bank summit in Nashik

Nashik: A two-day bank summit organised by the Nashik Industries and Manufacturers’ Association (NIMA) began on Monday. It was inaugurated by director of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Satish Marathe.
Around 15 banks, including all major nationalized banks, are participating in the summit. The objective is to provide information on banking schemes to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
In his inaugural address, Marathe said that the economy of the country had been affected during two years of the pandemic, but it has since recovered. Marathe said India is the world’s fifth largest economy and will soon be the world’s third largest in the next few years.
Marathe said that major decisions like demonetization, GST, RERA, etc., taken in the past 7-8 years have started showing visible results. The country is at the forefront of new technology and has taken a big leap in the agriculture industry.
He further said that in terms of exports, the country will remain at the forefront in the coming years. Moreover, steps are being taken for the development of the rural areas.
NIMA president Dhananjay Bele said that the objective in organizing the bank summit was to bring all professionals in banking sectors and industries together to discuss the new trends, challenges and opportunities.
