Raosaheb Danve dares MVA to spell out reservation for Marathas in its poll agenda

Nashik: Former BJP MP Raosaheb Danve accused Mahavikas Aghadi of not resolving the Maratha quota issue and dared the coalition to spell out its stand on the same in its poll manifesto."BJP has always stood by the stand that the Maratha community should get reservation. MVA has still not spelt out its stand. The MVA constituents should now declare their stand in the poll manifesto and that will be enough for the Maratha community members to understand who is actually helping the community," said Raosaheb Danve.Danve was in Nashik to decide on the tour plan of Union home minister Amit Shah, who is proposed to visit the city on September 25. Earlier, when the leaders of the opposition were in office they had failed to take any decision on the issue. In the dying moments, the Congress-led state govt announced reservation for the community, which failed to stand in the court of law."It was when Devendra Fadnavis assumed office as chief minister, he set up Maharashtra State Backward Class Commission, which recommended reservation for the community. When MVA came to power under the chief ministership of Uddhav Thackeray, the coalition failed to defend the decision in Supreme Court. Mahayuti is taking care of the community," he pointed out.Danve further stated that the seat sharing between the three coalition partners of Mahayuti would be finalised soon in an amicable manner."The top functionaries of the three constituent parties are working together on seat sharing and we are confident that all of us will achieve consensus on the formula," said Danve.About Shah's visit to Nashik, Danve said that Shah will review the party's performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls and its preparedness in each of the five districts of Nashik, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Dhule, and Nandurbar."Only office-bearers are expected in the meeting to be conducted by Shah. Shah will review the preparations for the election in the backdrop of the performance by Mahayuti in the division during the Lok Sabha election and we are confident that we will perform best in the assembly elections," said Danve.Former MP Raosaheb Danve on Saturday ruled out the possibility of inducting Eknath Khadse in the party-fold, saying only 'office-bearers and elected representatives' were told to be present at the meeting and Khadse is neither of them. Even large number of senior BJP functionaries have not been invited, he added.
