Police trace girl kidnapped since December last year
NASHIK: In a swift operation, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Nashik Police, under the guidance of CP Sandeep Karnik, successfully located a missing 17-year-old girl from Shivajinagar.
The girl had been missing since December last year and was last seen in the area before her disappearance
The Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), along with the Gangapur police, was involved in the investigation of the case, which was registered under Section 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code.
The AHTU officers, during their thorough investigation, received a tip-off that the girl was in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, along with the kidnapping suspect. The suspect, a 20-year-old male, was believed to be accompanying the girl at the time of her disappearance. Acting on this crucial information, the police teams coordinated their efforts to trace and rescue the girl.
Upon reaching Ahmedabad, the police were able to locate both the girl and the accused. They were detained by the authorities and subsequently brought back to Nashik. The girl was safely handed over to the Gangapur police, who had been eagerly working on the case since it was reported last year.
The case was diligently investigated by a team led by senior PI Subhash Pawar and PSI Vaishali Bhabhad, among others.
Their efforts were instrumental in the successful resolution of the kidnapping case. The police's prompt action and the effective collaboration between different units helped in reuniting the girl with her family.
