Nashik: The Dhule police late on Thursday night arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the murder of three people by their relatives during a wedding ceremony at Pimpalner village of Sakri taluka earlier in the afternoon.
The accused, Anil Goswami (32) of Songadh in Tapi district of Gujarat was detained based on social media posts, in which he allegedly issued threats to the bride's family. Inspector Kiran Barge said, "The fourth accused was picked up from Songadh after he put up the messages on social media platforms warning the family members of the bride of dire consequences. In the messages, he asked the relatives of the bride to be careful and watch out for the developments on Feb 17, 18, 19 when the people from his region (Songadh) would come to Pimpalner."

According to the police, the bride's relatives had appealed for peace and harmony after seeing the threatening posts. "However, when three men from Songadh arrived in Pimpalner, they argued with the bride's relatives over an old feud. Despite requests to maintain calm, the situation escalated," the officer said.
The officer said the three men attacked at least five residents of Sakri taluka with small knives, killing three and seriously injuring two others.
"The suspects attempted to flee to Gujarat but were intercepted and brought back to Dhule," Barge said.
A senior officer said all four accused were produced before the local court via videoconference due to heightened tension and security concerns. "The situation remains tense regarding the accused and hence it was decided to the present the suspects virtually. All of them have been remanded to police custody for the next four days," the officer said.
