Over 75,000 beneficiaries to get new homes on Republic Day
Nashik: The Nashik zilla parishad (ZP) has facilitated the construction of over 75,000 homes under various housing schemes, and the same will be handed over to the beneficiaries on Republic Day.The Nashik ZP CEO, Omkar Pawar, said, "The construction and payments to the beneficiaries, respectively, were completed. They will now move to their new homes on Republic Day."According to the District Rural Development Agency, 51,000 houses were completed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), and remaining 24,000 houses were constructed through various state govt-sponsored schemes. "This initiative was successfully implemented through the coordination of the various departments. The Nashik ZP remains committed to fulfilling the dream of ‘housing for all' in rural areas," the CEO said. Beneficiaries across the district will enter their homes on Monday.In this ceremony, the elected representatives, district and taluka administration officials, and gram panchayat office-bearers will hand over the keys of the new houses to them. The beneficiaries include the homeless from Scheduled Castes and Tribes, nomadic and denotified tribes, low-income groups, widowed women, persons with disabilities, and economically weaker sections. In Nashik district, the housing projects were accelerated through coordinating with the district administration, Panchayati Raj institutions, and Gram Panchayats, and positive results are now evident.
