NMC acting chief approves projects worth 25 crore

Nashik: The new acting commissioner of Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) Jalaj Sharma has given approval to various projects, including road works, worth Rs 25 crore during the general body meeting held recently.The proposals for road works are worth Rs 20 crore.The acting civic chief also gave approval to the garden department to procure 3,000 tree guards for saplings for Rs 1.6 crore. These saplings of indigenous species will be planted at the site of the construction & demolition (C&D) waste and Shivram Vazare Jogging track in the Cidco area.Sharma also gave approval to the public works department for laying roads and concrete road works in ward number 14 and 15 in the Nashik East division ata cost of Rs 5.2 crore, and another proposal to relay roads in ward number 23 in the Nashik East division for Rs 2.6 crore.In addition, a proposal for tarring the road from Bagulnagar Bridge to Saubhagyanagar via Vihitgaon in Nashik Road division was also approved at a cost of Rs 3 crore.Sharma instructed all the civic officials to complete all the infrastructure work on time and not keep anything pending.In a bid to give momentum to the pending developmental works, the new acting commissioner recently held meetings of the general body and the standing committee so that the civic works of the municipal corporationwouldnot be affected.
