NGO installs 60 boards to aid airport-bound motorists
Nashik: Me Nashikkar, a Nashik-based NGO, has put up 60 signboards so far on seven roads that lead towards the Nashik airport to help people drive to their destination.
These signboards provide information about the quickest ways to reach the airport and the different air services that operate from the airport.
Some corporate firms have also sponsored the expenses of the signboards with the aim of creating awareness about the air services at the airport among the citizens.

The seven roads where these boards have been put up include the road from Ghoti to Garware, Garware to Dwarka, Dwarka to Adgaon, Adgaon to Airport, Odha to Aurangabad Naka, Sinnar to Nashik Road flyover, and Trimbakeshwar to Nashik.
Jay Kothekar, CEO of Me Nashikkar, said these boards will be helpful for people travelling to and from Nashik. They will get to know about the air services that are currently operational from Nashik airport. This will help increase footfall at the airport, thus boosting air traffic.
The NGO has plans to put up 50 more signboards on the other five roads: Kasara to Ghoti, Pimpalgaon to Airport, Jawhar to Trimbakeshwar, Peth Road to Nashik, and Dindori to Nashik.
Presently, Nashik has regular flights to Delhi, Hyderabad, Goa, Nagpur, and Ahmedabad. The present airport is expected to be connected to a few more cities in the next few months. Hence, the NGO has taken the initiative of putting up signboards to boost air services.
