Nashik shocker: 2 girls drown as tractor slides into well in Ganeshpur village

NASHIK: Two girls aged three years drowned in a well in Ganeshpur village of Sakri taluka of Dhule district, 140 kms from Nashik on Sunday evening, when the tractor on which they were playing slid into a nearby well.

The victims are daughters of two different labourers, who were loading onions into a tractor trolley.

PI Deepak Valavi of the Sakri police station said the girls playing on the bonnet of a tractor while the work of loading onions into the tractor trolley was underway. The tractor was parked near a well that did not have the safety wall around it.

Somehow the tractor got into motion on the slope there and it fell into the well along with the girls. The incident took place at around 5 pm. While the body of one girl was fished out around 7 pm, the work of finding the other girl was underway until Monday morning.
