Nashik mayor pledges development for Chandshi

Nashik: Mayor Himgouri Aher-Adke on Tuesday reaffirmed her commitment to provide essential civic amenities to the Chandshi area and push for its formal inclusion within the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) limits.Addressing a gathering of local residents and leaders, the mayor emphasised that since a majority of the area's population is closely linked to Nashik city, ensuring their welfare remains a moral responsibility of the administration."People from Chandshi are closely linked to the city. Hence, the civic body will take all the measures required for the development of the region. We are exploring water supply models similar to those implemented in Vilholi and Govardhan to resolve the long-standing issue in the region. Wastewater treatment is also on our agenda," she said.Being asked about the connectivity, the mayor promised that the stretch from Ashoka College to Gandhari Bridge would be made motorable and safe before the onset of the monsoon. She also announced that the bridge over Godavari River — connecting Chandshi to Gangapur Road — will be inaugurated on May 1.Deputy Mayor Vilas Shinde also assured that he would take steps to ensure the Chandshi residents get easy and safe access to Nashik city."Internal road projects worth Rs14.5 crore, funded through the initiatives of deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde, are already underway. The civic administration also aims to resolve critical issues regarding sewage drainage and the local crematorium," he said.The villagers, including the local leaders, demanded that Chandshi, which is functionally a part of Nashik, should soon be officially integrated into the civic body to streamline its development.
