Nashik: CP Deepak Pandey on Tuesday showered the Sarkarwada police with praises for the outstanding detection of the twin murder case that started with the investigation of a missing complaint.
“The Sarkarwada police have done outstanding work by taking a simple missing case lodged with them seriously and investigating it, which turned out to be a case of twin murder. All police inspectors and constables should be working with the same zest as the team of Sarkarwada police has worked,” said CP Deepak Pandey.
The police have arrested
Rahul Jagtap, a 35-year-old businessman for murdering Nanasaheb Kapadnis (70), former registrar of Nashik based Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) and his 35-year-old MBBS son Amit.
While the father-son duo was killed in mid-December, their missing complaint was lodged with the Sarkarwada police station only on January 28, after which the investigation began. After the police learned that the father and the son were murdered for their property by Rahul Jagtap the police registered an offence of murder against him on February 16.
Meanwhile, DCP (Zone 1) Amol Tambe narrated the involvement of the Sarkarwada team and the hard efforts that were put in by them to investigate the case when there was no one to tell when the socially aloof father-son was last seen.
