Nashik cops to divert roads on third ShravanSomvar in city
Nashik: The Nashik city police barred vehicular traffic from near Taluka Police Station, Mela Bus Stand to the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) party office from Sunday at 2pm until Monday at 8pm. This decision was made considering the continuous flow of buses ferrying devotees to Trimbakeshwar for the third Shravan Somvar on Monday.Trimbakeshwar, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in the country, witnesses a maximum rush of devotees during the third Shravan Somvar. A large number of devotees from across the city and Maharashtra visit Trimbakeshwar for the third Shravan Somvar, which falls on Aug 11.In view of the heavy flow of devotees to Trimbakeshwar, the state transport department had arranged a continuous flow of buses between Nashik city and also Trimbakeshwar. A large number of devotees visit Trimbakeshwar a day before the Shravan Somvar, i.e., on Sunday, so that they can take a detour around the Brahmagiri hill at night. After taking darshan in the morning, they begin their return journey from Trimbakeshwar.In view of the rush of devotees at Thakkar Bus Stand at CBS, the police have banned the movement of all vehicles, except state transport buses, near Taluka Police Station, Mela Bus Stand to the MNS office from Sunday at 2pm until Monday at 8pm. Motorists from Taluka Police Station to Thakkar Bazar are advised to use the CBS - Modak Signal route, and those moving from Thakkar Bazar to CBS are advised to use the Modak Signal – CBS route.
