Narcotics force seizes MD worth Rs 2 lakh from worker’s house in Adgaon
Nashik: A team from the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) raided a worker's house in Bidi Kamagar Nagar, Adgaon, on Monday evening and recovered 69gms of mephedrone (MD) worth over Rs 2 lakh.The arrested worker has been identified as Abdul Razak Abdul Gani Shaikh. The police said the task force acted on specific information on the sale of MD from Shaikh's residence. The raid was conducted around 7pm on Monday, leading to the recovery of the contraband.The police said the accused sold the drugs from his home, while his son, whose current whereabouts are unknown, was responsible for selling them outside.A case was registered by the Adgaon police under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.Officials said ANTF teams are working on track the location of Shaikh's son. The investigation is also focusing on identifying the source of the drugs and determining how long the father-son duo was involved in the illegal trade.State govt has formed the ANTF to combat drug-related crimes. The unit operating at the Nashik Range level has busted numerous drug rackets across five districts in recent months.
