Man sent to jail for attempt to murder wife

Nashik: District and sessions judge N V Jiwane on Wednesday sentenced a 35-year-old man to seven years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and fined him for Rs 10,000 in a case of attempt to murder registered by his wife.
An official of the prosecution cell of the city police said that on the complaint of his wife, the Panchavati police registered an FIR against Deepak Vasant Pawar, resident of Samarth Nagar for the offences punishable under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the IPC.
His wife stated in her complaint that on the evening of July 30, 2020, Pawar attacked her with a household knife and had injured her seriously by doubting her character.
Judge Jiwane after examining the statements of the complainant, witnesses and the circumstantial evidences submitted by the investigating officer and Adv Sudhir Kotwal, the assistant public prosecutorfound Deepak Pawar guilty of the offence.
