Nashik: In a second shooting incident reported within a week, the city police have arrested a man for allegedly firing at his wife and her lover. The victims are unhurt as the bullets brushed-past them. The accused has been remanded in police custody for three days.
Sadanand Inamdar, senior police inspector at Indiranagar police station said the accused Deepak Pardeshi allegedly opened fire at his wife Komal and another Nagesh Thakur after an heated argument. He allegedly found them together on Thursday night when the incident took place.
"The victim, accused and few other friends had gathered for Deepak's birthday celebration at their row house located near Pathardi phata on Thursday evening when the incident took place," he said.
Inamdar added that Deepak, a worker at Nandurbar, had specially come down for celebrations. "We have been told that his wife had married Nagesh few years back. Midway through the birthday celebrations, Nagesh and Deepak entered into an argument. Soon the dispute between them escalated and Deepak opened fire at both of them," he said adding that the accused and other friends were under the influence of alcohol when the incident took place.
While one bullet brushed-past Komal's right eye, another one scrubbed past Nagesh's neck. "Both the victims, who were rushed to the government civil hospital, are stable. The two shells of bullets fired have also have been recovered from the scene," he said.
Inamdar said that Deepak has been taken into police custody and further investigations will help in recovering the illegal firearm and cartridges. They have a five-year-old daughter and newborn son.
On August 17, Pralin Baviskar father of 17-year-old Mohit Baviskad opened fire at the minor in Untwadi, when he was being taken from the juvenile court towards remand home.
