Male employee among 15 zilla parishad workers found taking Ladki Bahin benefits in Nashik & Jalgaon
Nashik: At least 15 employees of the Nashik and Jalgaon zilla parishads, including one man, were found to be benefiting from the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. All of them now face action from govt.Launched in Sept 2024 by state govt, the Ladki Bahin scheme provides a monthly payout of Rs 1,500 to women aged 21 to 65 years whose family's annual income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh. Beneficiaries should not be receiving benefits from any other scheme."We received information that seven people are benefiting from the Ladki Bahin Yojana, including one male employee. I have issued show cause notices to each of them," said Minal Karanwal, the Jalgaon ZP CEO.One of the seven has already taken voluntary retirement, while six others remain serving, including a male employee. The officer has sought a response from them. Based on the information provided, the ZP will calculate the amount each individual received."After we get the details, we will understand how much money they got. All of it will be recovered, and strictest action will be taken against them," said the officer.Similarly, in Nashik, eight employees of the ZP were found to be benefiting from the scheme, and details have been sought from them. "As of now, we have received information from the state about eight employees benefiting from the scheme. We have sought details on each of them and will issue notices to them seeking their explanation for being on the beneficiary list," said Omkar Pawar, the Nashik ZP CEO.
