The Western India Sports Association (WISA) has for the first time planned a car rally exclusively for women in the city.

NASHIK: The Western India Sports Association (WISA) has for the first time planned a car rally exclusively for women in the city. It will be held on April 27 and will commence and conclude at the Viridian Valleys on the banks of river Godavari near Asarambapu Ashram.
A route of 150 kilometers in and around Nashik has been charted. The rally will be flagged off at 8 am.

Each vehicle will start a minute after the other. The organizers expect 150 entries as the event is being organized after 11 years.
The event will be held in the time speed distance (TSD)format wherein the competitors will have to follow the route given to them.
Shrirang Matse, who will act as clerk of the course, said, " We expect good response as it is a fun rally. No modifications to the car or rally experience is required".
The association has been conducting two and four wheeler rallies and races for the last 12 years. The event is sponsored by Suyojit Builders and Radio Mirchi 98.3, Tejasvi Builders, Manvata Curie Hospital and few others. Prizes in cash and kind have been announced for the winners.
WISA chief Ashwin Pandit said, "It is our duty to conduct events for women also. Women's empowerment is our theme and the rally is a tribute to women.
