‘Jalgaon-Jalna rail awaits sanction’

Nashik: Flagging off the maiden run of the Dhule – Dadar train from Dhule virtually, the union minister of state for railways Raosaheb Danve today said the Jalgaon – Jalna railway track was awaiting cabinet sanction. The tri-weekly train will depart at 6.30 am from Dhule on every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday to reach Dadar at 1.15 pm. The return journey will depart at 4.15 pm from Dadar on every Sunday, Monday and Friday and reach Dhule at 11.35 pm. “This is a dream come true for the people of Dhule who wanted direct rail connectivity up to Mumbai and back. The people of Khandesh will soon have direct rail connectivity to Marathwada through Jalgaon – Jalna 174-km-link that is awaiting cabinet sanction,” said Danve. Union minister of state for health and family welfare Dr Bharati Pawar, MP Subhash Bhamre, mayor Pratibha Chaudhary, the MLAs from Dhule and other areas along with senior railway officials were present at the meeting. Talking about the much awaited Manmad – Indore project, Danve said he was placing it on record that the work between Dhule and Nardana was part of the project.“Maharashtra has, for the first time, got a budget of Rs 13,000 crore for railways as against Rs 1,100 crore earlier. This is huge and hence it may be noted that an appropriate decision would be taken soon for the expansion of the railway network,” Danve stated.MP Subhash Bhamre, in his address, thanked the railway ministry for starting the train and said the next immediate help the citizens looked for was the direct connectivity to Pune.
