It was a home-coming wish fulfilled on their first stages. Anshu Singh, an alumnus of the National School of Drama (NSD) and a Nashikite, had a nostalgic time presenting a full-length Hindi Play 'Ram Sanjeevan ki prem katha' at Kalidasa Kala Mandir on Wednesday evening. Based on a love story and directed by Singh, the play had a free-for-all one evening show at the auditorium, and received a full house thronged by eager Nashikites.

"I am a bit more excited as this is the same stage where I used to work in children's plays. It's like a child performing in front of parents for me," said Singh, who has won more than 250 prizes at the national-level for acting and direction.
Another treat for the audience was another Nashikite donning greasepaint in the play. Sachin Shinde, who played an important role in the play, was also appreciated for his work.
'Ram Sanjeevan ki Prem Katha' was based on the story penned by noted Hindi short story writer Uday Prakash. Earlier too, Uday Prakash's stories have attracted many directors to adopt and present them into theatrical form. It is the story of Ram Sanjeevan, a student from Bihar, who joins JNU in Delhi and finds himself in a seemingly alien atmosphere among his urban classmates. Most of the actors, including the director were from NSD and their expertise was visible on the stage.
