Nashik: Having received an overwhelming response from citizens at College Road, Happy Streets is now moving to the Govindnagar area this Sunday.
Happy Streets, being held after two years of Covid-induced restrictions, was inaugurated by Nashik municipal commissioner Chandrakant Pulkundwar last Sunday. This weekend, the much-loved TOI initiative will celebrate Christmas at Govindnagar, where it will be held on the stretch of road from Karmayogi Nagar chowk to Sagar sweets.
A wide range of events, including Zumba sessions, games, dance and music shows etc. have been planned for people of all ages. Residents truly have many reasons to be excited. “There is a different type of excitement for Happy Streets. Everybody loves hanging out on the traffic-free streets. Happy Streets is special to us,” said residents Rajesh Puri, Chitra Sathe, Kailas Sarma and others.
“This is otherwise unimaginable to have traffic-free roads where our children can have a fun time safely,” said Swatee Kulkarni, an IT engineer.
