Facilitation centre to help citizens avail 52 new online services

Nashik: The civic administration is now ready to provide 52 services online. These include services like online provision of birth and death certificates, payment of taxes online, and a host of other services. Those unfamiliar with getting these done online can avail them from the Citizens’ Facilitation Centre, starting September 1.

Of the 52 services, 44 have been added for the convenience of citizens. Some services were already available online, but the system has been refined now to make it work better. Citizens can avail these services on Nashik Municipal Corporation’s website, which can be accessed even over mobile phones.

“All processes have been refined, timelines have been finalised and we have made it easily available for citizens. We have basically done the business process re-engineering in which we have optimised documents of rules and regulations. Processes have been standardised,” an NMC official explained.

With this, citizens should be able to avail a host of services without visiting the NMC or its divisional offices, at just the click of a mouse.

The civic administration aims to provide maximum services online so even civic staff can save time, besides citizens. It is expected that transparency will also increase once the whole system is online.

The NMC e-Connect App has been quite successful after the process re-engineering was done.

“Once we lodge a complaint on the App it is resolved or at least the process is initiated in 4-5 days, unlike the earlier App,” Rupali Jadhav, a housewife, said.

Shekhar Kare, an accountant said, “It is a very nice step by NMC. We hope all services are made online soon.”
