Bengali community all set to celebrate Durga Puja

Nashik Sarbojanin Durga Puja at HAL township
This year’s puja at the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited township will be completing 50 years and hence organisers have made all out efforts to celebrate the puja in a grand manner. Krishnendu Paitandy, the president of committee, said there will be cultural events on all days for our members and their families. Ananya Chakraborty, a finalist of Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Bangla 2019, will also perform during the festival.
Sarvojanin Durga Pujo Committee Trust, Gandhinagar
The oldest Durga Puja in the city, the Sarvojanin Durga Pujo Committee Trust, Gandhinagar, will be celebrating 66th year this year. Sujoy Gupta, president of the committee said: “Nearly 2.5 lakh devotees visit our pandal every year. We want our Bangla culture to stay alive here in Maharashtra.”
Banga Sanjog Foundation, Off Gangapur Road
The Banga Sanjog Foundation will be celebrating its 7thyear of puja. General secretary of the committee Animesh Mukherjee said this year they have installed 25 feet Durga idol which will be the tallest in the city. “Our members also do charity for the needy. We donate clothes, books and other things to many NGOs that come to offer prayers,” he added.
Nashik Bongiya Parishad, Shubham Park, CIDCO
Nashik Bongiya Parishad will be conducting 18th year of celebration with traditional fervour and gaiety. General secretary of the organising committee, Tarak Nath Banerjee, said: “108 diyas will be lit before the idol for five days. To avoide noise pollution, we have junked use of speaker in the pandal.” Artists from Kolkata will stage Bengali folk song programme during the celebration.
Udayan Sarbojanin Durga Puja Sevabhavi Sanstha, Panchavati
This organisation is celebrating festival for 9th year. President of the sanstha, A B Hazara said there is tremendous enthusiasm among members to organise the festival. Various cultural programmes are lined up to celebrate the festival.
