According to university officials, students studying in the last semester of all its affiliated colleges will have to appear for the examinations.
"The final year students will have to appear for the examinations as it will affect their further studies or career plans," the authorities said.
As per this decision, around 15,000 students will have to appear for the final examinations and around 45,000 students will be promoted on the basis of internal examinations and previous performances.
The district administration of Ahmednagar, where the university is situated, is utilising the college and hostel premises of the university. An official from the university said that the dates and mode of conduct of examinations depends on when the district administration will vacate the facilities and sanitise the whole premises.
"The examinations are to be conducted before June 15 so that the result could be declared by July 15. We will begin the admission process for Semester III and V from August 1 and for Semester VII from July 1. Also the first semester will begin from September 1," the official said.
"Conducting examinations on time will enable the students to enrol for the post graduate courses on time as they will need the transcripts to apply in various colleges," he added.
