ACB nabs two MSEDCL officials

Nashik: The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) sleuths caught two senior officers of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), Dhule, on Wednesday evening while accepting a bribe of Rs2 lakh from a government contractor.
The ACB officials laid a trap in the MSEDCL circle office after verifying the complaint filed by the contractor. The officials caught the power utility officers accepting the first instalment of the bribe amount from the MSEDCL contractor in front of eyewitnesses.
The complainant had done some work for the electricity board’s Dhule office in 2018-19 and has been waiting for his pending dues of Rs56.3 lakh.
The contractor had approached both the accused with a request not to raise any query on the bill and sanction the same. TNN
