The rural police have warned people of confiscating vehicles if people arrive in large groups.
While vehicles have not been confiscated yet, the police have taken action against tourists for not wearing masks or not maintaining social distancing.
There are many scenic locations in Wadivarhe, Ghoti, Igatpuri and Trimbakeshwar. As the weekend lockdown is in force and most of the establishments are closed, a large number of people start going to such locations.
As per the directives of the SP, police personnel of various police stations have been deployed on roads leading to scenic locations. Those spotted without masks are fined on spot, said the police.
Patil had recently uploaded a video on social media appealing to people to follow Covid norms to prevent the spread of the infection. The infection rate is currently under control and it should not increase due to the negligence of people.
