Nagpur: A 21-year-old private employee, Mohammad Ghazi Iftikar Ahmed, was seriously injured in a brutal group assault near Awasthi Chowk in Mankapur, around 12.30am on April 14.
According to a complaint filed at Mankapur police station, Ghazi and his friend Insaf Khan were standing at the chowk when the accused Adil Sheikh (24) arrived, abused them and called his associates. Aaqib Sheikh (28), Shoaib Sheikh (25), Imroz Khan (20), Kabir Khan (21), all residents of Jafar Nagar, and others allegedly attacked Ghazi with a knife, hockey stick and hand buckle.
Aaqib allegedly stabbed Ghazi on the right side of his chest while Shoaib hit him on the head, causing heavy bleeding. The victim fled but was chased before locals rescued him and rushed him to a hospital at Prashant Nagar, where he is under treatment.
Police registered a case under BNS. A forensic team visited the spot and panchnama was conducted.
