Tragedy struck at the Nandanvan slums after a youth identified as Ramu Dhote died after consuming poison on Monday.
Ramu (22) arrived home at 6 pm but later developed uneasiness. While he was lying on his bed at his residence, he complained of acute pain in his abdomen. Ramu was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) by his family members.
Medical investigations revealed Ramu had consumed a poisonous liquid which was diagnosed to be the reason for his death.
The reason behind the drastic decision could not be ascertained. Nandanvan police has registered a case of accidental death.
Thief flees with bag containing Rs 80,000 cash
A thief fled away with a bag containing cash Rs. 80,000 and some important documents. Sunil Motwani (40), resident of Indora, after closing his electric shop in Gandhibagh went to Ganesh Tekdi temple near railway station. Before proceeding to offer prayers, Motwani left the bag with the cash and documents in his Hero Honda Activa parked in the temple's parking space. However, the trader got a shock of his life to find the bag missing after he returned from the temple. Motwani immediately filed a complaint with Sitabuldi police station. A offence under section 379 has been booked in the case.
Men carrying country liquor in police netTwo persons carrying county made liquor were arrested by police near Dhantoli garden on Tuesday at 5 pm. The accused have been identified as Manoj Bhalavi (35) and Prakash Suryavanshi (30), both residents of railway quarters, Ajni. Bhalavi was riding Hero Honda Splendor bike while Suryavanshi was pillion. The two had bought the liquor from a shop on Wardha road and were carrying it to Bhalavi's residence. Sources revealed that Bhalavi had plans to sell the liquor. The two accused had been kept under custody and non-bailable warrants have been issued against them. Their vehicle too was seized.
