YAVATMAL: Even as Tanha Pola was being celebrated by agriculturists across the state on Saturday, a 28-year-old farmer hanged self to a neem tree on road to his farm in Narsala village of Maregaon tehsil in the district. The deceased has been identified as Gajanan Narayan Musle.

According to sources, crops in Musle's four acre farm were ruined following heavy rain in the region for the last few days. Unable to cope with the loss, he was disturbed. He took cattle for grazing on Saturday morning. As he did not return home till late, family members with the help of villagers started looking for him and found his body hanging to a roadside tree.

The police brought the body down and sent it for postmortem after panchnama. Further investigations are on.
