Nagpur: Yavatmal side comprising
Akshay Karnewar, Nachiket Bhute and Aman Mokhade, all Ranji players, lived up to expectations and emerged champions in VCA inter-district T20 tournament. They defeated Amravati by 14 runs while playing at their home ground.
Batting first, Yavatmal made 170 for 8. Karnewar (43 off 31b), Bhute (36 off 21b) and Mahesh Pawar (31 off 23b) were the key contributors.
Rinku Chhikara took 2 wickets for Amravati.
In reply, Amravati managed 156 before getting all out in 19.3 overs. Prerit Agrawal (55) was the top run-getter. Vedant Jajoo (36) and Apoorv Wankhade (16) tried their best.
For the champions, Chetan Padole (3-23), Bhute (2-28) and Pushkar Gujar (2-37) did well.
