‘Yaadein Kishore’, a treat to music lovers

NAGPUR: Music lovers of the city were in for a treat of evergreen Kishore Kumar’s songs on the eve of his death anniversary, organized by Harmony Events at Suresh Bhat Sabhagruh on Sunday.

The live talk and concert ‘Yaadein Kishore’ started with Sagar Madhumatke presenting ‘Khilte hai gul yaha’ and set the bar high for the rest of the evening. It was followed by a soulful rendition of ‘Neele neele ambar pe’ by Makarand Patankar.

Leena Chandavarkar was presented with her husband Kishore Kumar’s sketch made of coffee. She recalled how Kishore Kumar’s songs gave her a hope to live once again when she was going through depression after the death of her first husband.

he show was conceptualized by Rajesh Samarth and compèred by Shweta Shelgaonkar.

The highlight of the show was Chandavarkar singing ‘Ghum ka fasana’ with Patankar.

Manisha Nishchal presented ‘Rimjhim gire sawan’ and ‘Mere naina’ which received thunderous applause. ‘Mere dil ne jo maanga’ by Akansha Nagarkar made the crowd nostalgic. Sucheta Padmavar sang ‘Dil me kisi ke pyaar’.

Songs like ‘Saare shehar me’, ‘O manchali’, ‘Koi humdum na raha’, ‘Zindagi ke safar mein’, ‘Khwaab ho tum ya’, 'Roop tera mastana', ‘Dhal gaya din’, ‘Gaata rahe mera dil’, ‘Kora kagaz tha’, ‘Saalam-e-ishq’, ‘Ye raatein ye mausam’, ‘Paanch rupaiyaa’, ‘Aake sidhi lagi’, ‘Ye jawani’, ‘Arey yaar meri’, ‘Mere sapno ki raani’, ‘Jai jai shivshankar’, ‘Jaane kyun log’, ‘Ashwini ye na’ and ‘Jhumru’ were well-received.

The show concluded with the singers singing ‘Zindagi mil ke bitayenge’.
