With the help of six aides, man kills wife’s ex-lover

Nagpur: A man betrayed by his wife forgave her but could not excuse her lover who was also once a good friend of his. Residents of Eighth Mile, Wadi, saw a gang of seven brutally stab 35-year-old Mariba Jadhav near his home on Monday afternoon. The murder was fallout of an affair Mariba had.
Jadhav, a resident of Eighth Mile, Wadi, would run a pan kiosk.He died while undergoing treatment at Mayo hospital by evening. Wadi police have registered a case of murder and arrested the main accused, Shravan Mendhe, 40, also a resident of Eighth Mile. Police are still searching for his six accomplices.
Police stated that Mendhe and Jadhav were once good friends and would frequently visit each other’s home. Three years ago, Jadhav began an illicit relationship with Mendhe’s wife. Mendhe came to know of it and their friendship turned into enmity. In 2014, Jadhav had eloped with Mendhe’s wife. In due course, Mendhe got married to another woman. “A year later, Mendhe’s first wife returned to him. Mendhe accepted her and allowed her to stay at his home. Fearing Mendhe’s wrath, however, Jadhav did not return to Wadi,” police said.
Jadhav was staying in another area and almost another year had passed. Recently, he was convinced by his family to return home to attend his younger brother’s engagement scheduled for Tuesday. Mendhe came to know on Monday that Jadhav had come back for his brother’s ring ceremony.
Around 1 pm, while Jadhav was watching TV at home, Mendhe and his accomplices turned up with sharp weapons. They dragged him outside. The family members kept pleading with the attackers to spare him but the gang repeatedly stabbed Jadhav. Minutes later, the assailants fled the spot. The police were informed who reached the place and took a badly injured Jadhav to Mayo hospital where he succumbed to his injuries by evening.
Initial enquiry revealed Mendhe’s role in the murder.
