‘War room’ to expedite job creation, eco growth in city
Nagpur: In a significant push to accelerate the implementation of ambitious development projects in Nagpur, a ‘war room' was established following the directives of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. This initiative aims to ensure better inter-departmental coordination and timely execution of govt responsibilities, thereby boosting economic development and generating employment opportunities."A dedicated team comprising heads of all relevant departments was formed to streamline the process. This war room will enable us to resolve challenges at every stage and complete projects at a faster pace," said collector Vipin Itankar, who is overseeing the initiative.A review meeting regarding the war room's functioning was held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Auditorium under Itankar's chairmanship. Additional district collector Tushar Thombre and department heads from various sectors attended the meeting on Wednesday. To monitor and expedite progress, the collector's office will issue prescribed forms to implementing departments for updating project details. These forms will be reviewed regularly to address bottlenecks. "If needed, a dedicated portal will be developed to centralise and streamline data collection and monitoring. A procedure for this will be finalised within two days," Itankar added. The possibility of using existing technology provided by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) for these projects is also being explored. This approach aims to minimise delays and optimise resource allocation. The war room, modelled after a similar setup in Mumbai, is expected to enhance accountability and transparency in the implementation of development projects in Nagpur. It aligns with the chief minister's vision of fostering rapid economic growth through efficient governance and inter-agency collaboration. With this initiative, authorities aim to address challenges more effectively, ensuring timely completion of transformative projects critical to Nagpur's progress.
