VNIT to bestow over 1.1k degrees at convocation

The premier institution would be conducting its 17th

VNIT was ranked sixth among the 31 NITs and 31st at the national-level according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). It was also ranked second among the NITs as per i3RC Times Engineering Survey and Outlook Magazine Survey.
Talking about various developments carried out at VNIT, Jamdar and Padole said with the help of alumni two battery operated buses have been started inside the campus for students and faculty members. Moreover, students have been provided bicycles for in-campus movement.
“We have recently switched over to solar power and are producing 1MW which is sufficient to cater to all our needs. This way we are saving Rs80 lakh. We would also be constructing a football ground adjacent to the cricket ground. The alumni are also helping us in various projects like canteen renovation and construction of new buildings and guesthouse,” said Jamdar and Padole.
They added that VNIT is also building a sports complex near the cricket ground. An academic complex has been constructed to accommodate the increasing number of students. This building has 30 classrooms, with each having a capacity to accommodate about 150 students. Additionally, there will be an exhibition hall that will have on display all the technologies developed at VNIT for rural areas, differently-abled people, other sections of society, they said.
