Vidarbha likely to get light rains between Nov 25-27

Nagpur: Light to moderate rainfall is expected in some parts of Vidarbha between November 25-27. According to the forecast issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Nagpur, scattered rainfall is expected in Akola, Amravati, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Wardha, Yavatmal and Washim. In Nagpur district, light rainfall is predicted on November 27.Minimum temperatures might see a further drop in the coming days. On Tuesday, Gadchiroli was the coldest in the region with a minimum temperature of 15.4 degree Celsius. Nagpur saw a minimum temperature of 16.3 degree Celsius which was a degree more than the normal mercury levels.The highest departure was recorded in Washim where the minimum temperature was 17 degree Celsius, almost two degrees above normal. At 33.7 degree Celsius, Bramhapuri recorded the highest maximum temperature.The met department has advised citizens to take precautions during cold weather conditions. “Have adequate winter clothing including multiple layers. Watch out for symptoms of frostbite like numbness, white or pale appearance on fingers, toes, ear lobes and the tip of the nose. Put the areas affected by frostbite in warm, not hot water. The temperature should be comfortable to touch for unaffected parts of the body,” the advisory stated.

The minimum temperature on Saturday was 24.4 degrees Celsius, just 1.8 degrees higher than normal, and rose to 25 degrees Celsius on Sunday. There is not expected to be a significant change in minimum temperature in the next four to five days. The maximum temperature has been slightly above normal as well. The weather has been dry since the last phase of post-monsoon activity.
