Vid U-14 boys in final

Nagpur: An allround performance from Vidarbha under-14 boys took them to the final of Raj Singh Dungarpur Trophy (Central Zone) on Wednesday. Vidarbha emerged victorious on the basis of first innings lead against Madhya Pradesh in the 3-day semifinal encounter in Meerut. They will square-up against Rajasthan in the summit clash.
Vidarbha staged a comeback on Day-1 after they were reduced to 105-6. They scored 238 before getting all out. The total proved beyond reach of MP as Vidarbha bowlers skittled them for a mere 125 runs.
With 113 runs lead, Vidarbha batted the entire last day on Wednesday and reached 148 for 1 when both the skippers decided to shake hands. tnn
BRIEF SCORES: Vidarbha 238 all out 92.5 overs (Rehaan Batra 57, Saish Bhise 55; Nishkarsh Saxena 3-40, Rudra Singh 2-37, Aayush Septa 2-46) & 148 for 1 in 61 overs (manav Wakode 69 n.o, Rehaan Batra 53) vs Madhya Pradesh 125 all out in 55.5 overs (Yash Chauhan 29; jayesh Kumbhare 5-27, Sparsh Borkar 3-23). Result: Vidarbha won on 1st innings lead basis.
