Vid Lit Fest to kick-off with book on banking
Nagpur: The Vidarbha Literary Festival will kick-off on Saturday, March 12, with Tamal Bandopadhyay’s bestseller, ‘Pandemonium: The Great Indian Banking Tragedy’.
Tamal is a senior journalist and an award-winning business columnist. Author of five other books, Tamal is widely recognized as a contributor to the ‘Oxford handbook of the Indian economy’ and ‘Making of new India: Transformation under Modi government’.

In 2019, he was named as one of the most influential voices in India by LinkedIn.
At the event, readers will get an opportunity to interact with the author who in the book has written about the rot in the Indian banking system. The book, published by Roli Books in 2020, has been described as a ‘financial sector policy thriller’. It combines the micro and macro stories underlying the crisis facing banks in India.
Tamal will be in conversation with Tejinder Singh Rawal, a well-known economist from the city and author of many books.
The VLF is a non-profit organization formed by prominent intellectuals of the city, who gave the city its very first-ever successful VLF in 2020. “It was attended by 45 non-fiction authors and more than 15 publishing houses who came to Nagpur to celebrate books and reading,” said Sachin Jahagirdar, founder-secretary, VLF.
The event will be held with all Covid protocols in place with not more than 75 attendees.
