The RTM Nagpur university will distribute a whopping 45,293 degree certificates during its 94th (2005-06 term) convocation ceremony, to be held at Vasantrao Deshpande auditorium.

NAGPUR: The RTM Nagpur university will distribute a whopping 45,293 degree certificates during its 94th (2005-06 term) convocation ceremony, to be held at Vasantrao Deshpande auditorium on Saturday. Vice-chairman of the University Grants Commission Moolchand Sharma will be the chief guest. The varsity will also be distributing 240 gold medals, perhaps the highest in the state, along with 38 silver medals and 94 cash prizes.
Head of the Gandhian Thought department K S Bharati will be the only recipient of doctorate in literature (DLitt) during the programme for his research on the topic ‘Mahatma Gandhi—Man of the millennium'.

34,417 of the degree recipients are graduates, 10,711 are post graduates, and 164 are receiving their doctorate of philosophy (PHd).
Anish Kathane of Babasaheb Ambedkar Law College will be getting the highest number of gold medals (14) for topping the five-year LLB course. Radhika Gorde from the same institution will be receiving 10 gold medals for merit in the LLB three-year course. Deepali Borkar of Ratnadevi Purohit Mahila Mahavidyalaya will also get 10 gold medals for topping the science stream.
The unique feature of this year's convocation will be the introduction of eight new gold medals, of which three will
be given from the varsity's coffers.
