Utkal Diwas celebrated with grandeur by Odia Samaj, Nagpur
Nagpur: The Odia Samaj of Nagpur came together in a spirited celebration of Utkal Diwas, marking the foundation day of Odisha — a land known for its deep-rooted traditions, grand temples, and vibrant cultural heritage.Under the leadership of president Bhavani Mishra and general secretary Ganesh Das, the event unfolded with a splendid showcase of Odisha's artistic and cultural legacy. A major highlight of the evening was a mesmerising cultural performance by Natya Shastra, Bhubaneswar, led by Mithilesh Pattnaik, and Lingaraj Kalaniketan, Puri, led by Jagannath Mishra — both esteemed groups sent by the Govt of Odisha. Adding to the evening's brilliance, local artists Ruby, Sony, Soumya, Arti, Damayanti, Sasmita, Bibhuti, Chittaranjan, and Debangsi enthralled the audience with their remarkable performances.South India Association president KV Nagarajan, CAMIT president Dipen Agrawal, Gujarati Samaj president Ramesh Patel and Bharat Bharati secretary Ramesh Pasariwere the guests of the function. Odia Samaj vice-president Debasish Mohanty; general secretary Ganesh Das and Namita Rathwere also present.Seamlessly anchoring the evening was Chinmay Patra, whose engaging presence kept the audience captivated. Behind the scenes, the women members of the community played a crucial role in stage management, ensuring the smooth flow of events. The collective efforts of Akshay Nayak, Prabhat Barik, Subhash Sahu, Taraprasad Acharya, Rajendra Panda, Bidyadhar Das, Rajalaxmi Das, Bhimsen Nayak, and many more were instrumental in making the celebration a grand success.With its vibrant performances, cultural pride, and community spirit, the event truly embodied the essence of Utkal Diwas.
