Two girls, including minor, allege rape

NAGPUR: A former boyfriend and a rickshaw puller were booked on charges of rape at separate police stations on Friday evening.
The first complaint was filled by a 27-year-old woman at Lakadganj police station against her lover Ashish Chaurey, a resident of Dubey Nagar, Hudkeshwar. The woman claimed that the accused had been threatening her since 2007 to maintain physical relationship.The woman is pursuing chartered accountancy course, while Chaurey works with a private firm.
The police informed that the woman and the accused were college mates and fell in love with each other in 2007. Chaurey forced her to physical intimacy under marriage promise and filmed her obscene images.
A few months later, the woman started avoiding Chaurey when he started forcing her for physical closeness. Chaurey started threatening her to leak her images to her relatives and at social networking sites and continue the physical relationship.
The woman stays with her elder sister in the city. Fed-up of the blackmailing by Chaurey, the woman finally shared her plight with her elder sister, who then encouraged her to file a police complaint.
Lakadganj police have arrested Chaure.
The second complaint was filed by a 12-year-old girl at Jaripatka police station. Alleged accused Leshkumar Gokhale, 24, is a resident of Jaripatka.
Police said that Gokhale was a rickshaw puller. The minor’s father was also in the same profession and had provided a rickshaw on rent to Gokhale, who stayed in the neighboring house.
The minor told in her police complaint that Gokhale had been raping her for past two months. She told that her mother was a domestic help. Gokhale would come at her house in the absence of her parents. She stayed with her younger sister and grandmother in the afternoon when Gokhale would drag her in a room and force himself upon her at knifepoint.
The girl told that Gokhale had threatened to kill her if she told about the incident to anybody. The matter came to light on Friday afternoon when the youth was taking the girl to a room and she freed herself and ran to her grandmother. She told the incident to her, who then informed the parents and neighbours.
Police said that the neighbours immediately rounded up Gokhale and thrashed him badly till cops reached the spot to rescue him. Gokhale is undergoing treatment at Mayo Hospital.
