Twin brothers train rural youths in computers for free

AMRAVATI: With a view to introduce rural students of the state to computers, twins of village Kholapur in Amravati district have been providing free training to them for the last nine months.
The novel endeavour of twins Harshal and Himanshu, sons of builder Abhijit Deshmukh, has earned them accolades from Dr Raji Nair, India chief of UNICEF. Impressed by their work, Nair has invited them to assist the world body in public welfare and development works.
Harshal and Himanshu are pursuing Std XI studies at Suryadatta Junior College, Pune.Nine months ago, fired by the desire to introduce rural students to computers, they launched Project Usha to provide free training to rural youths in computers. So far, they have trained more than 1,500 rural students in ten villages of the state.
Recently, they held a training programme for students at Kholapur, their native village. Certificates were distributed to the trainees at the hands of Kholapur sarpanch Ashutosh Deshmukh, PSI Satish Chavre, deputy chairperson of Bhatkuli Panchayat Samiti Kalpana Chakre, Dadasaheb Deshmukh, retired district judge Krishnarao Deshmukh, Mankar, Sangole and Kale.
