Nagpur: A speeding tipper truck collided with a car killing 21-year-old Aryan Daf and injuring his five friends in Pitesur area under Gittikhadan police station limits when the friends were heading to a shrine before appearing for an examination on Saturday.
Aryan and his friends, Abhijit Khadke (21), Gaurav Kamble (20), Rohan Tandekar (20), Abhishek Durai (21) and Aman Pardhi (22), are all residents of Zingabai Takli and nearby areas.

Police said the friends planned a visit to Hanuman Mandir in Babulkheda in Aryan's car with Aman behind the wheels. Around 8.30am, while heading towards Babulkheda via Pitesur, Abhijit said he did not bathe, and Abhishek risked being late for his exam. So, the group decided to return home, taking a U-turn.
On the road near Swaraj Farmhouse, a speeding tipper truck coming from the opposite direction smashed into the car, said police. The impact sent the car spinning and crashing into the compound wall of the farmhouse. The tipper driver fled the scene, abandoning his vehicle.
The friends sustained injuries, with Aryan suffering severe wounds. They were rushed to a private hospital on Mankapur Ring Road where doctors pronounced Aryan dead on arrival.
His friends are undergoing treatment. Gittikhadan police registered an offence.
Abhijit filed a complaint report at Gittikhadan police station where a case was registered against the tipper driver under Sections 106(1), 125(A), 125(B), and 281 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with co-sections 134 and 187 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Police launched a search to trace the tipper driver.
