The flashy national day rallies soon turning out to be major headache for city police for various violations and related rowdiness. On Monday, two groups had almost came to blows over their I-day rallies leading to registration of offences at different police stations.

Nagpur: The flashy national day rallies soon turning out to be major headache for city police for various violations and related rowdiness. On Monday, two groups had almost came to blows over their I-day rallies leading to registration of offences at different police stations.
One of the rallies was led by BJP corporator from Sai Mandir ward Munna Yadav’s son, while the other by Shiv Sena leader Panju Totwani’s son.

The supporters of each factions had nearly clashed when police had to intervene. There was tension at Khamla which police had to diffuse.
On an earlier occasion, Yadav’s son had come under police scanner for controversies surrounding his rally on the Republic Day. It is learnt that the members of Yadav’s son’s rally had even climbed atop a Star bus during the revelry.
Dhantoli police said that an offence under Bombay Police Act was registered against Darshan Palakwar whose name was used as an applicant for permission for the rally to be organized by Yadav’s son.
The rally was permitted to move through Dhantoli, Sitabuldi and Ambazari localities but it went towards Khamla violating the police orders.
An offence against Totwani was registered at Rana Pratap Nagar police station for organizing the rally without seeking permission. Totwani and Yadav were learnt to have later ensured that the matter do not take ugly turn.
