Top artistes to perform in Nagpur

NAGPUR: The fourth edition of classical music festival ‘Swara Zankar’ will be held at Chitnavis Centre on May 13 and 14. The music carnival has been jointly organized by Violin Academy, Pune, Chitnavis Centre and GSB Sabha, Nagpur.
Acclaimed classical artistes like Rahul Deshpande, Rakesh Chaurasia, Atulkumar Upadhye and Mukesh Jadhav will perform. Mahalaxmi Shenoy, a debutant classical vocal singer, will be the special performer.
Rajas Upadhye, director of ‘Swara Zankar’, said, “The audience for classical music is growing in the city and therefore it is a delight in times when most consider this genre as outdated.”
The entry tickets for the festival will be available at Chitnavis Centre and PN Gadgil Jewellers from Sunday.Tickets can also be bought on Bookmyshow.com.
‘Swar Zankar’ has also initiated an online classical music appreciation programme that provides a platform to those who wish to gain knowledge about various aspects of the art.
