Three Forest Officers Suspended in Gondia Over Irregularities Allegations
Chandrapur: Three forest officers from the Tiroda forest range in Gondia district have been suspended following serious allegations of embezzling government funds.The suspended officials include Tiroda range forest officer (RFO) RG Mun, round officer (Tiroda) Shailendra Pardhi, and round officer (Wadegaon) Abdul Durrani. The conservator of forest Shri Laxmi issued their suspension orders on Saturday. According to officials, the responsibilities of the suspended officers have been reassigned to other foresters.Mun and Pardhi are accused of major financial misappropriation in two cases. Sources revealed that Mun falsely reported the death of a villager, Govinda Gopi Bhagat, from Sonegaon, as a wild boar attack, whereas the actual cause of death was a fall from a tree. In the second case, Mun and Pardhi allegedly embezzled funds allocated for sapling plantations at five sites in 2024.Forester Abdul Durrani is also facing charges of irregularities in plantation work under his jurisdiction during the same period.Divisional forest officer (DFO) Pramod Kumar Panchbhai confirmed the suspensions, stating that the officials were relieved of their duties with immediate effect due to the severity of the allegations.
